Competency Manager Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center

Mr. Jason Runell is a Mechanical Engineer for United States Army - Armaments Center located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.  In his current role as Competency Manager for the Armaments Center Packaging Division, he oversees the complex work activities of over 35 Engineers and Scientists focused on developing and rapidly delivering innovative packaging technologies to our warfighters.   Mr. Runell has worked for the Armaments Center for 16 years.  He has dedicated his career to progressing military packaging technologies through the application of advanced product development methodologies.  Mr. Runell has advanced degrees in Engineering, Product Development, and Technology Management; and he holds multiple patents in the field of ammunition packaging. 

In addition, Mr. Runell is the Army lead for the Joint Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) Center Strategic Initiative alongside Mr. Kenneth Zimms of the US Navy.  Together, they strive to leverage their combined capabilities to develop cutting-edge PHS&T products and technologies for Joint Armament Systems such as the Joint Air-To Ground Missile.
