Applied Technology Associates (ATA), in business since 1975, has a heritage of research and development, engineering, and manufacturing of critical technologies and solutions, which we are presently applying to counter the threat of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our solutions have been proven and successfully demonstrated on non-kinetic high energy laser programs including the Airborne Laser (ABL), the Airborne Tactical Laser (ATL), and the High Energy Laser Mobile Test Truck (HELMTT), to name a few.
Today we are integrating commercially available, high TRL sensors and effectors with ATA’s best of class, proven system command and control electronics, precision pointing and tracking, sensor fusion, beam control, and laser system fire control. Our low cost, small form factor counter UAS system, named LOCUST, provides a shoot-on-the-move acquisition, tracking, identification, and engagement of multi-class UAS threats at close range and out beyond 5 km.
Modular and reconfigurable, today our LOCUST system is designed for ease of operations to counter individual and swarms of UAS threats as it provides
- 360 degree RF telemetry, radar, and wide field of view infrared imaging for acquisition and tracking
- High resolution infrared imaging with zoom, laser ranging and target illumination for passive and active tracking, threat identification, and precision aim-point maintenance
- RF electronic jammer and high energy laser weapon effectors for target defeat
Our LOCUST system will be demonstrated at the upcoming military sponsored Maneuver Fires Integrated Experiment (MFIX), and we are able to support additional demonstrations to address military, civil, critical infrastructure, and commercial interests associated with addressing the UAS threat.
