Dustin Caudle

(A) Chief Patrol Agent, Yuma Sector Border Patrol

Dustin W. Caudle is a 25-year veteran of the United States Border Patrol currently serving as the Acting Chief Patrol Agent (CPA) of Yuma Sector.

Acting CPA Caudle entered on duty with the U.S. Border Patrol on May 21, 2000, as a member of Class 436. His first duty assignment as a Border Patrol Agent was the Yuma Station in the Yuma Sector. In November 2007, Acting CPA Caudle transferred to the Special Operations Group in El Paso, Texas, as part of the first full-time national BORTAC team and was promoted to Field Operations Supervisor in September 2010. In December 2013, Acting CPA Caudle transferred to the Del Rio Sector as the Special Operations Supervisor (BORTAC Commander) for the Del Rio Sector Special Operations Detachment (SOD). Acting CPA Caudle was promoted to the Deputy Patrol Agent in Charge of SOD in March 2015 and then to the Patrol Agent in Charge of SOD in August 2015. Acting CPA Caudle transferred to U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters as an Assistant Chief in July 2018 and was promoted to an Associate Chief in October 2019. Acting CPA Caudle transferred to the El Centro Sector as the Patrol Agent in Charge of the El Centro Border Patrol Station in February of 2021 and was promoted to the Deputy Chief Patrol Agent of Yuma Sector in May of 2023.

Acting CPA Caudle completed the BORSTAR Academy and Special Response Team Selection Course in 2002 and completed the BORTAC Selection Course in 2005. He has led and conducted complex operations throughout the continental United States as well as missions in Ecuador, Argentina, Columbia, and Kenya. Acting CPA Caudle's leadership and operational experience has led to the success of multiple national efforts that provided thousands of additional law enforcement personnel and critical resources to the Southwest Border during the surge of large migrant caravans and the humanitarian crisis in 2019 and 2020. Acting CPA Caudle led the effort to create the DHS Volunteer Force that activated personnel from across DHS to support the Border Patrol at overwhelmed processing centers. Acting CPA Caudle was the lead representative for CBP that coordinated all Department of War personnel and assets deployed across the Southwest Border. Acting CPA Caudle most recently served as the Senior Advisor and Deputy Vice Chair of the Southwest Border Task Force at the Department of Homeland Security for the Assistant Secretary of Border and Immigration Policy.

A native of Texas, Acting CPA Caudle graduated with honors from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He is a graduate of the CBP Leadership Institute and the DHS SES Candidate Development Program.
