Derek Claiborne is Head of Intelligence & National Security at Scale AI, where he works across the Intelligence Community, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Justice to move AI from standalone models into operational systems used at the mission edge. Before Scale, Derek built go-to-market and solutions teams at Snorkel AI, Robust Intelligence, and Chainalysis, deploying AI and data platforms across defense and intelligence customers and winning programs. Derek brings a firsthand view of the border mission: as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, he led a 200-person Afghan Border Police training team, building the local intelligence-sharing relationships that accelerated decision-making in a high-threat environment. He holds an MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business.
