Mr. Lee Bowes is the Chief of the Biometrics Division within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The Biometrics Division is responsible for the collection, storage, and dissemination of biometric data and background check information for USCIS. USCIS collects biometrics on 3 to 4 million individuals per year across 138 domestic sites and many international locations. For the past eight years, he has been supporting biometric processing for USCIS with a focus on the modernization of biometric systems and the enhancement of data sharing and usage. Currently, he is assisting USCIS in developing strategies that focus on more person-centric aspects of identity management and data usage.
Prior to supporting USCIS, Mr. Bowes worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology for over five years performing commercialization and economic impact analysis on public-private partnered advancements in new technologies.
