Brigadier General Maciej TRELKA

Brigadier General Maciej Trelka was born on January 17, 1970 in Jarosław. He began his adventure with aviation in 1985 by entering the Aviation High School in Dęblin. In 1989 he began his studies at the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin. He continued his military service in the 6th Fighter-Bomber Regiment in Piła and the 7th Reconnaissance Bomber Regiment up to 1999 as the Senior Pilot, in recognition of his professional involvement, achievement and aptitude, he was delegated to study at the National Defence Academy in Warsaw.

In 2002, due to the organizational restructuring, he was appointed as the Flight Commander, of the 7th Tactical Squadron. Since that time he advancing in this unit from many position including Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander to the Squadron Commander. Furthermore, from 2008 to 2010 he was appointed Head of Training and Instructor Pilot in the HQ of the 1. Tactical Air Wing. From April 2010 he was the Commander of the 33rd Airlift Base in Powidz. From October 2011 he was appointed Commander of the 23nd Tactical Air Base in Mińsk Mazowiecki where he was serving for five years. In 2016, he was delegated to execute tasks in the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces as a Head of Air Operation Division in the Air Force Inspectorate. Additionally in 2016 he graduated from Poznań University of Technology where he assumed Ph.D in field of technical sciences, construction and operation of machines. In 2018 he graduated from War Studies University postgraduate studies in defense policy. On February 4, 2019 he assumed the post of the Commander of the 1st Tactical Air Wing in Świdwin. On August 15, 2021 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President of the Republic of Poland – Andrzej Duda. In 2023 he graduated from Bydgoszcz Academy "Civil defense and crisis management" postgraduate studies. Since 2024 he was delegated to General Command of Polish armed Forces to support the Commander's Group with his knowledge and experience. On December 1, 2025 he was appointed Chief of Aviation – Deputy Air Force Inspector. Brigadier General Maciej Trelka is a master class pilot. He has reached more than 2100 flight hours on various aircraft types including TS-11, Jaguar, Hawk. AMX, T-50, F-16, Su-22, MiG-29, FA-50.
