MAJ Nefjoveny Rosa is a native of Carolina, Puerto Rico. He attended Florida Southern College at Lakeland, FL, where he commissioned as an Infantry Officer and earned a B.A. in Political Science. He also attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, where he earned a Master of Science in Systems Engineering Management. MAJ Rosa currently serves as the Project Officer for Project Linchpin at the Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. He is responsible for establishing the ecosystems to support the development of artificial intelligence capabilities for Army Programs.
MAJ Rosa’s initial assignment was at Fort Benning, GA where he completed the Infantry Officer Basic Course and Ranger School from 2009-2010. His first operational assignment was at Fort Bragg, NC where he served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer through two deployments with the 82nd Airborne Division from 2010-2013.
MAJ Rosa then assumed command of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, GA. During MAJ Rosa’s command, Charlie Company graduated more than 4,000 new paratroopers for the Joint Force.
Following his command at the 507th, MAJ Rosa moved to Fort Polk, LA and assumed command of Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment on 29 May 2015. He commanded the company through a Joint Readiness Training Center Rotation and a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan as the Infantry Uplift Commander for Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan.
After completing his second command, MAJ Rosa was assigned to the 188th Infantry Brigade, First Army Division East, where he served as a Light Infantry Team Chief, a Battalion S3, and the brigade’s HHC Commander from 2016-2018.
MAJ Rosa was assigned as both the Mission Division Deputy Chief and Detachment A Commander, 918th Contracting Battalion, Fort Carson, CO. He deployed for nine months to the Kingdom of Jordan as the Regional Contracting Office Chief in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Following his assignment in Contracting, MAJ Rosa transitioned to a program management assignment and was assigned as the Assistant Product Manager for Data and Analytics where he managed the development and deployment of the Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP), an All-Domain capable suite of tools to support intelligence analysis at echelon.
MAJ Rosa’s military awards include the Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the U.S. Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Valorous Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. His decorations include the Master Parachutist Badge, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and Ranger Tab. He earned the Headquarters Department of the Army’s General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award for calendar year 2017. His foreign awards include British, Uruguayan, and German Parachutist Badges.
