Navy Introduces Random Blood-Alcohol Tests
Random blood-alcohol tests are to be carried out on sailors in the Navy from February, amid concerns about the amount of drinking going on in the service.
Under the new rules, any sailor with a blood-alcohol level of .04 percent or higher will not be allowed to work.
The move is part of the 21st Century Sailor and Marine Initiative, a plan put in place by Navy Secretary Ray Mabus to boost the health and wellbeing of personnel who have seen a decade at war.
