US Military Boosts Counter-IED Measures for Afghanistan

The threat posed to Afghanistan forces by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) is constantly expanding. According to US Department of Defense (DOD) statistics, the number of IED attacks on Afghanistan forces rose to more than 8,000 last year, from 2,677 in 2007.
