All of the systems mentioned are automated. The human element, which does not necessarily equate to 'error', has been overlooked. Maritime Domain Awareness surely includes the human input along with real-time contribution of data. The collation and analysis of all the data input requires accuracy to enhance security and safety. International coordination and cooperation must encompass all the maritime elements from commercial, military and governmental, but also the burgeoning private maritime security industry, which has a great deal to offer in aiding situational awareness. Take a look; maybe the idea will catch on!
