New York, NY– February 10, 2011 – Non-Traditional Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (NTISR) is emerging as the chosen supplement to our overworked ISR force. This new technology is a force-multiplier and allows increased actionable intelligence collection. The transformation of NTISR systems is being developed through institutional changes that are reshaping mission integration, communication, and intelligence systems making this the most relevant time to meet with key government and industry experts. Acquisition decisions and requirements for industry are being made right now.

In keeping with these developments,CDR Christopher Hewlett, Action Officer on the Joint Staff in the J-5 Asia Division, spoke with IDGA’s Senior Editor Nick Yonker on the non-traditional ISR and the joint approach to the concept. He details what he sees as the biggest NTISR challenge that U.S. and coalition forces face. He also talks about what he sees as solutions to overcome these issues and what must be done to implement them effectively.

The Podcast has been made available here.

CDR Hewlettwill deliver a briefing at this year's 2nd Non-Traditional Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Summit taking place March 21-23, 2011 at theMarriott Wardman Park, Washington, DC.
